CLEVELAND, OH – The Cavs suited up their secret weapon on Saturday: the Da Vinci robot. In his only appearance, Da Vinci James’ performance was clutch, so much so that he’s already being mentioned in discussions for Finals MVP. On Saturday, Da Vinci James finished the night with 42 points off the bench, 12 assists, 11 rebounds, 4 steals, while going a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line.
“He shoots with such precision and accuracy, granted it takes him a while, 45 minutes for each free throw,” said head coach Tyron Lue with a chuckle. “But you can’t say he didn’t step up for us tonight.”
Da Vinci James threw a wrench into the Warriors’ game plan, giving the Warriors difficulty on defense; they didn’t have a robot to match up. Draymond Green told reporters after the game, “He’s here, he’s there, he’s like Bugs Bunny. I just don’t have an answer. It’s almost like someone is controlling him from another location!” Green growled with frustration. “I want to punch him in the nuts, if I knew were they were.”
His monster Da Vinci jam at the start of the third quarter was one for the ages:
“What else can you say but BOOMSHAKALAKA?” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “We’ll go back to the drawing board, but don’t worry, we’ll be ready for the next game.”
