ALBANY, NY – Local orthopaedic surgeon Louie Soler doesn’t take chances inside or outside of the operating room.

When he goes out for his monthly cardio workout consisting of rollerblading 2 miles, he always protects his most precious resources; his hands and wrists.

Helmet optional, wrist guards mandatory!

Well before Soler started his in-line jaunts, he knew the dangers he faced taking to the mean streets for occasional fitness. He’s treated countless fractures of the wrist and hands sustained while skateboarding, scootering, roller-skating and rollerblading.  Knowing the risks, he bought the finest pair of red velour designer European wrist guards he could find in a men’s smedium.

When asked why he doesn’t wear a helmet, Soler was quite cavalier.  “I don’t wear a helmet for the same reason I don’t have comprehensive insurance on my ‘86 Pontiac Fiero, complete damage would be a minimal loss.”

Soler was last seen strapping on his blades and skating across the Surgery Center parking lot rocking out to Enrique Iglesias on his Walkman while wearing a women’s medium Messi jersey, wrist guards, and no helmet.
