Updated 2016 Code Constipation Algorithm

BALTIMORE, MD – Let’s face it: constipation is evil.  As healthcare providers, there is nothing more crucial than identifying constipation in a patient between the hours of 10 PM and 6 AM when he or she is likely comfortably sleeping.  For this reason, the American Academy of Constipation (AAC) updated their Code Constipation guidelines for 2016 to ensure that a patient with constipation is appropriately diagnosed, treated, and, if needed, sent to hospice.
