NASHVILLE, TN – Fans will be queueing up at medical records departments across the country as critically-acclaimed hospitalist Amanda Snider announced she will be releasing a limited-edition discharge summary on vinyl. The release will be limited to only 2,500 copies, and is slated for December 21, 2018.
Snider broke onto the Hospital Medicine scene last year when her pop hit “History & Physical” rose to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Ever since then, she has populated the charts with Drake-like prolificacy: hits such as “Blood Consent,” “Progress Note,” “Against Medical Advice,” and “Consent for a Lumbar Puncture” have come out in the last month alone.
In a Facebook post, Snider wrote, “Thank you to all my fans for always supporting my documentation! To say thank you, I’m releasing a limited-edition DC summary! I’ve always loved how documentation sounds on vinyl compared to digital or EMR formats. I love it and hope you will too! Release date 12/21/18. xoxo – Amanda Snider, M.D.”
She added the vinyls will be signed, date and timed, and perhaps even witnessed.
According to Snider’s website, the limited-edition discharge summary will be released on 180-gram high-fidelity HIPAA-compliant vinyl. The vinyl will be colored yellow to celebrate contact precaution gowns of the same color, and urine. A special insert will not only include vital signs and labs, but lyrics and a delivery menu. Snider will forgo the traditional charting sleeve and instead put the DC summary vinyl in a special three-ring binder.
