Following years of agony among chief residents attempting to input schedules into the AMiON.com interface, a major change is underway: Tinder is now acquiring AMiON, allowing AMiON users to monitor their call schedules and upcoming date nights with a single TinderResident app.

“Glad you weren’t on call”

The new TinderResident app has a user-friendly calendar, marking call nights in red and date nights in green. “This is perfect,” said resident John McFly. “It was draining my phone battery to keep switching back and forth between the AMiON and Tinder apps. Now, with the two merged, my date calendar and call schedule are both easily accessed from one app.”

The app comes with other functionalities as well, such as reminders of what footwear to have ready. “With TinderResident, I can now keep track of when I need to have nice shoes with me, so I don’t get caught on a date night in Crocs,” explains surgery resident Shelby Gunner. “It even has a ‘Shoe Alarm’ that texts me an image of Crocs or heels at 3:30am that morning, so I can remember!”

The TinderResident app has also aided in creation of resident block schedules for the year, using the same “swipe left” and “swipe right” features of Tinder to keep incompatible residents from ever being on the same inpatient team.

“This part was a godsend,” said chief resident Hate MyLife, bleary-eyed from 6 straight hours of making schedule changes and drinking directly from a bottle of Grey Goose. “I don’t have the attention span to remember which resident has which personality disorder and can’t be paired with someone else. Now, they just swipe left on each other enough of the time that I make teams with whoever is left that won’t kill each other.”

The corporate acquisition went through in the summer of 2018, with Tinder acquiring AMiON for $100,000. “We couldn’t believe how great of a deal we got for this website,” said Tinder CEO Sean Rad. “It’s like they were trying to give it away. I mean the whole thing is basically just a buggy spreadsheet, but it gives us access to over 30,000 young doctors to put into our dating pool. It doesn’t get any better than that, bro.”
