TOLEDO, OH – Program Director of Internal Medicine Dr. Marcus Jones is ecstatic his program will fully match this year with the large amount of candidates exclaiming his program is their number one choice.

“We tricked them guys!”

“It’s nice to know that we won’t have to go unmatched this year like we have in the past,” Jones announced proudly.

In the past, the Internal Medicine residency program has had spots go unfilled, resulting in the program having to participate in the SOAP, or Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program.  This year is Jones’ first year as program director but he boasts that interest in the program has skyrocketed.

“We not only have had a record number of applications but I’ve had multiple candidates email or call telling me they are ranking the program ‘number 1’ or ‘very highly,” he said.  “It’s all incredibly exciting and relieving.”

Rank order lists for residency applicants are due February 22 with matches will be announced on March 17 during the annual Match Day.  None of the candidates who said they were ranking the program No. 1 could be reached for interview.
