MOUNT CARMEL, NY – Congratulations to the staff of Mount Carmel ER!! Please join us for a celebratory luncheon today at 1pm in the lobby at mount Carmel west hospital. We will be celebrating the 100th patient of the year leaving AMA earlier in the week. This event will commemorate the exodus of 100 completely irrational people who probably should have stayed, but thanks to the quick thinking and decisive action of ER staff, they didn’t.
Many renowned staff members will recognized for their team work and role in contributing to this outstanding departure.
1. Dr Chow is to be awarded the bronze chicken nugget. He will be honored for his roll in making unreasonable demands on patients by making them NPO for no apparent reason. How clever!
2. Nurse Gary lions will be awarded the silver angiocath. He has been praised for his courage and skill in placing 14 and 16 gauge IVs when an 18 or 20 is more than enough. Way to go Gary!
3. Alisa jones, security officer in the triage area is also being recognized for her uncanny ability to show people the door. She is to receive the door prize, which is an actual door, with a big beautiful exit sign. Please stop by to sign this door and write a note of thanks to Alisa. This door will be given symbolically as a token of the staff’s appreciation.
4. We’d also like to thank all of the ancillary staff for your role in encouraging patients to “smoke” only in the designated “smoking”area 11 blocks from the hospital. We couldn’t have done it without your support!
We really appreciate all the work that being done to keep us from working too hard.
