NASHUA, NH – Leading expert on the topic of burnout and owner of website KevinMD, Kevin Pho, has informed Gomerblog that he has officially burned out from churning out all these articles on burnout.  As he put it, “Phew, I’m burned out…”

Other experts in the field of burnout say that KevinMD’s experience is akin to a childhood riddle.  “You know the saying, How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?  Same concept: How much burnout can a burnout specialist have if a burnout expert has burnout?” explained Tony Lassitude, friend of Pho.  “Turns out the answer is simple: a lot.”

“The readers demand articles on burnout, whether they want to read it or not,” KevinMD explained in a phone interview with Gomerblog while lying down, covers pulled over his head.  “We publish up to 4,000 articles on burnout per day, and that’s a lot of work.  Reading and publishing about burnout every 3 seconds takes its toll.”  In assessing his own mental health and physical exhaustion, KevinMD has also wondered if all those burnout articles have burned out all those reading about burnout, a phenomenon he has dubbed burnout-induced burnout (BIB).  It has certainly taken its toll on stock photo models of doctors.

KevinMD plans on stepping back for a little while to catch his breath.  Either that or temporarily publishing photos of puppies in adorable poses on the KevinMD site until both he and his readers have had time to recover.

“You have to be passionate about burnout,” insisted KevinMD, as he YouTubes videos of kittens driving tractors.  “You can’t be burned out talking about burnout, that’ll just burn you out, you know?”

In related news, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has announced new plans to address resident burnout by limiting work hours to no more than 168 hours per week.
