CHICAGO, IL – In a recent press release, the Joint Commission (known as JACHO) announced the implementation of a punishment system for health care providers who violate important patient safety measures.  The “Pyramids of Punishment” are intended to deter behavior that the Joint Commission has deemed “a significant threat to the well being of the patient population as a whole.”  The pyramids can be found below:
