BALTIMORE, MD – Calling the new procedure a “miracle in bariatric surgery,” physicians at John’s Hopkins University spoke at a press conference last Saturday regarding a newly-developed surgical technique for weight loss that bypasses the entire gastrointestinal tract, including the mouth.
“The results we’ve been seeing with this new surgical technique are unprecedented,” said Dr. James Pryce, Director of Bariatric Surgery at John’s Hopkins Hospital.
“By preventing food from entering the body entirely, the number of calories that the body can absorb decreases dramatically.” Dr. Pryce went on to explain, calling the procedure the perfect option for those individuals who have continued to gain weight despite other surgical methods.
At press time, patients who had undergone the surgery were reached out for comment, but none could respond to our questions.
