For decades, the skull cap has been the surgical cap of choice for many surgeons across the country.  Recently, hospitals have begun banning the use of skull caps in favor of the bouffant hat out of concern for infections and patient safety.  Many surgeons are outraged by the thought of wearing an alternative head covering.  Below you will find a detailed anatomical description of the different surgical caps in question.
